Preparing my heart for Jesus with some of his most beautiful brothers and brides.
Come, Lord Jesus, come soon!
yes, I literally dreamed last night that I was stamping some more. That’s how many I stamped. And it was actually so much fun! If you’ve ever volunteered for them, donated to them, or had literally anything to do with them, expect a card in the mail in the next few weeks, and its beautiful! Hopefully I will see some of you in New York City on December 2nd for their celebration! It will include Mass, their famous cookies they bake, a talk from Mother Agnes, and the Sisters’ schola choir singing advent songs…and let me tell you, if you’ve never heard them singing, its like a little piece of heaven.

My morning alarm is now Benedictine monks gregorian chant of “Christus vincit”. What better way to wake up than to remember Christ conquers, Christ reigns, and Christ rules!
I’m taking a class on Catholic Church Music through Out The Ages, and I am completely in love. Don’t get me wrong, it’s TOUGH. I’m literally learning Church history, Latin language, and classical musical songs/composers/langage all in one class. I’m in a class with seniors all graduating..okay, I push myself a little much, lol. But I’m completely astounded. AND to top it off, in other news, for Lent, my choir is performing at school and at a basilica in Waterbury..the ENTIRE Requiem by Faure..some people hate it/don’t appreciate it but I literally sit there mesmerized when we sing it. I’ll keep you guys posted!
In case you don’t know, the requiem is a Mass in the Catholic tradition; the Mass for the dead. In terms of music, it means an entire book of the Mass SUNG, and classical composers throughout history have each had their own version. We are singing through the Requiem of Gabriel Faure. here is a small taste:
