I am a religious studies and Spanish double major, almost done with my undergrad, looking to be a theology professor, and continue youth ministry and mission work abroad - these are just my plans, but I'm also discerning Christ's plans for my life. I'm a singer and performer, but currently taking a little bit of a break to focus on school and my ministry. This blog is bits and pieces of my life, and my spiritual journey. I spent the entire weekend with them on retreat. The absolute most beautiful women I have ever encountered. Now, I know many religious because of my faith, and I have to say, this was an entirely new experience. Their joy was different from all other. Their charism of life shows in the way the value each person around them. They look at you, and show you how much you are infinitely loved by Christ; but they can only do that because they so graciously accept/receive that love themselves. They can only love because they have accepted love. They are so vibrant, and in different ways, so funny, silly, and REAL! I was shocked at how they guided me to leap into the unseen, and unconquered in my own heart- I encountered Christ in such a new way, and it was SO necessary! Our relationship with Him needs to be constantly renewed! He showed me, through them, that my spiritual life is so much more than the box I put it in and label (as far as my spirituality goes, and the limits I put on it). They showed me and helped me pinpoint grace. How to “put out into the deep”. How unique my heart is as a woman, and how unique its’ desires are. I am still in awe! I wish I could say more about my weekend, but a) I don’t exactly know how b) I guess its private because I, myself, am still growing and absorbing it. At least my point is how spectacular and wonderful these sisters are! We need an abundance of them! I hope I can live the joy they live in my life as well!
is that I can be the even CLOSE to the witness and apostle God created me to be. Like St. Mark, that I can evangelize, and complete the mission I was called to. Even writing that hits me in the chest..we were created and CALLED before time, BID to complete the task given especially and uniquely to us, that only we can properly fill as saints, and the only way to our happiness. I pray especially to say a huge YES, like the fiat of Mary, to whatever my vocation may be, and that each of the girls in my Marian Group find happiness in Christ, and say yes to whatever He calls them too.
